Political advisory body holds symposium on Belt and Road building

BEIJING -- Top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng Thursday called on China's non-Communist parties and personnel to contribute to the Belt and Road building.
Hosting a symposium attended by representatives of non-Communist parties and those without party affiliation, Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, noted that the building of the Belt and Road is a significant political task requiring a united front.
Yu, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, called on non-Communist parties and personnel to guide private enterprises to participate in infrastructure construction, investment and industrial capacity cooperation in Belt and Road countries.
He also called for their participation in stepping up personnel exchanges, cultural communication and think-tank cooperation to facilitate win-win cooperation between China and other Belt and Road countries.
Yu called on religious groups to play an active role in cultural exchanges.
