Software industry revival gathers pace
Revival of China's software industry has quickened in recent months with revenue, profits and recruitment growing faster, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said. Software companies reported revenue of 2.08 trillion yuan ($293 billion) from January to April, down 0.1 percent on a yearly basis, the latest figures showed. Profits fell 2.3 percent on a yearly basis to 239.8 billion yuan, compared with a 13.1-percent decrease in the first quarter, showing a gradual recovery in the sector that has been hurt by the novel coronavirus epidemic.
China's logistics demand recovers
Logistics demand in China improved in April as economic activities recovered following easing epidemic containment measures, official data showed. The total value of social logistics in the January-April period fell 4.2 percent year-on-year to 75.3 trillion yuan ($10.56 trillion), according to the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing. The drop narrowed from the 7.3-percent slump seen in the first quarter. In the first four months, total logistics costs came in at 3.9 trillion yuan, down 8.8 percent year-on-year.
