With the experience of hosting the 2008 Summer Olympics, Beijing will make history this year as the first city in the world to host both the winter and summer editions of the Games. As legacies of its past glory, some venues for the Summer Games have been renovated for the upcoming winter events.

One of them is the National Aquatic Center, also known as the "Water Cube". It's also the venue where Michael Phelps memorably won eight gold medals.

As the 30-day countdown to the event begins, China Daily invited Sun Deyuan, chief engineer of the Ice Cube renovation project to share how his team turned the "Water Cube" into an "Ice Cube" for the Winter Olympics.

Sun is from the China Construction First Group Construction & Development Company, Limited and he has given more details about the renovation project in the video.

Check it out here.
