Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture in Southwest China's Guizhou province is known for its vibrant Bouyei culture, including its traditional "Bayin Zuochang" Bouyei ethnic band, Zhuanchang dances, and Bouyei opera.
Qianxinan has been promoting the inheritance of Bouyei traditional culture through innovations in cultural and creative products, talent cultivation, and industrial structure, carving out a distinctive path that blends tradition with modernity.
In Anlong county, schools have introduced Bouyei martial arts to their campuses by establishing heritage halls and teaching points.
Ceheng Ethnic Middle School has designed textbooks for unique intangible cultural heritage items such as Zhuanchang Dance and Bouyei embroidery and incorporated them into the school curriculum.
Traditional festivals such as the Bouyei Sanyuesan and Liuyueliu celebrations also serve as platforms for showcasing ethnic culture and offering intangible cultural heritage experiences, enhancing the popularization of Bouyei ethnic culture.
From remote villages to modern cities, from ancient crafts to cultural and creative hits, the traditional culture of the Bouyei people in Qianxinan is embracing a new era.
