Top rail official under disciplinary investigation

Fei Dongbin, head of China's National Railway Administration, is under investigation for suspected serious violations of discipline and law, the country's top anti-corruption agency said Thursday.
Fei, 54, is being investigated by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission, according to a statement released by the commission.
A native of Jinzhou in Liaoning province, Fei began his career in 1991 as an intern in the railway system in Shenyang, Liaoning province. He rose through the ranks to hold senior leadership positions in several major railway bureaus. He later transitioned into multiple leadership roles in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Henan province.
In 2022, he returned to the transport sector as head of the National Railway Administration.
