China stands ready to work with Japan to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and forge a constructive and stable bilateral relationship that answers the needs of the new era, Chinese Vice-Premier He Lifeng said on Friday.

He made the remarks in a speech during the China's National Pavilion Day event at Expo 2025 in Osaka.

He emphasized that more than 2,000 years of friendly exchanges have proven the two neighbors "cannot move away from each other".

The World Expo serves as an important platform to promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, advance social prosperity and progress, and strengthen friendship among people of all countries, He said.

"Through the China Pavilion, the world will gain a deeper understanding of a genuine, beautiful, credible, and lovable China," he said.

Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Yoji Muto pointed out that China-Japan relations are among the world's longest-standing bilateral ties, with frequent exchanges in the fields of culture, technology and philosophy — which have greatly contributed to both nations' development.

"China is Japan's largest trading partner, while Japan is China's third-largest," he said, adding that beyond robust trade and investment, people-to-people exchanges through tourism have also deepened.

"I sincerely hope that the Expo will further advance China-Japan exchanges," Muto said.

Hiroshi Moriyama, secretary-general of Japan's Liberal Democratic Party and chairman of the Japan-China Parliamentary Friendship Association, echoed the sentiment, expressing hope that the Osaka Expo would usher in a new chapter in bilateral relations.

"I sincerely hope visitors from around the world will explore the China Pavilion, experience the charm of China's diverse regions, and deepen mutual understanding," he said.

China's National Pavilion Day was celebrated at the Expo 2025 Osaka on Friday, with the theme "Brilliant China, Shared Future". During the event, a troupe from Shaanxi province performed ethnic dances, traditional music, opera, martial arts, acrobatics, and street dance, showcasing China's rich cultural heritage.

Since its opening on April 13, the China Pavilion has welcomed over 770,000 visitors.

Additionally, it has hosted more than 20 vibrant events, including activity weeks at the provincial and municipal levels, corporate days, and themed days.
