Guangdong, Macao branded products fair opens featuring silver economy, cultural innovation

MACAO -- The 2025 Guangdong and Macao Branded Products Fair opened Thursday in China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), highlighting "silver economy" and the "China-chic" cultural trends.
Bringing together more than 400 enterprises from home and abroad, the fair showcased over 5,000 branded products, such as smart nursing beds and national intangible cultural heritage crafts. It was jointly organized by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute of the Macao SAR and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province.
At the opening ceremony, Che Weng-keong, president of the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute of the Macao SAR, said that the fair has opened up channels for products from Portuguese-speaking countries to enter the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), while serving as an effective bridge for Guangdong and Macao to deepen economic ties with Belt and Road countries and regions.
Sun Bin, deputy director-general of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong province, said that Guangdong and Macao are currently strengthening integration through the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, advancing the development of the GBA and supporting Macao's economic diversification.
The fair runs through Sunday, according to its organizers.
