Realism sets a new benchmark

The drama's script draws from declassified archives and firsthand interviews with the heroes' descendants, ensuring both historical accuracy and emotionally resonance.

According to Yang Bei, the biggest challenge was restoring the details of that era. Between 1949 and 1950, limited cross-Strait records and the scarcity of visual references made historical reconstruction difficult. To ensure accuracy, the team conducted extensive research using biographies, archives and 1950s literature, consulting military and history experts, and visiting the families of the fallen heroes to capture the human warmth and authenticity of their time.

The production team adhered to the principle of "staying true to major facts while allowing creative freedom in details". Historical contexts, timelines, relationships, and outcomes were strictly based on real events, while minor details were adapted to convey emotional truth.
