An acrophobic (fear of heights) passenger delayed a flight for more than an hour in Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport on Monday.

The incident took place in the morning when Chen, who had boarded a plane to Nanchang in Jiangxi Province, became emotionally unstable. He had a headache, and his face turned pale. Several minutes later, he began shouting to crew on board, asking to leave the place. Chen's friends immediately explained to the crew Chen had serious acrophobia.

The pilots and crew on board the China Southern Airlines plane had to allow Chen to get off the plane when it was set to take off. According to relevant aviation rules, all passengers and luggage were then required to leave the plane and receive another security check, so as to ensure a safe flight.
