A group of well-known Chinese classical musicians will make their New York debut at the Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, on September 25.

The group, lead by pianist and composer Liu Shikun, violinist Lv Siqing and soprano Shen Na, is expected to enhance the influence of Chinese culture through showcasing the achievements of contemporary Chinese artists to the US audiences.

"I hope this upcoming performance could be a wonderful interpretation of classical Western art by Chinese artists, and create an opportunity for Sino-US cultural exchanges," said Zhang Haijun, director of Beijing International Culture& Art Co Ltd, the event's organizer.

Zhang says in recent years, more and more Chinese artists have performed overseas, which has promoted Chinese culture and helped the world to deepen understanding of China.

According to Hong Bin, the concert's music director, that many Chinese and Western classics will be performed during this concert and famous musicians from the US and Europe will also be invited to stage performance.

He says all earnings of the event will be donated to the China Youth Development Foundation for the construction of schools for students in poverty-stricken areas.
