Qiu Taijian is an award-winning photographer and member of the China Photographers Association. His work captures the life of China's last "primitive tribe", the Va ethnic minority in Wending village, Cangyuan county of Southwest China's Yunnan province.

In Va language, Wending village, or "Om Dian", means a stockade village on the waterside. With a history of more than 400 years, the village is home to more than 100 households.

The villagers still live primarily with their own customs and religious beliefs.

Village residents are described as the "last primitive tribe in China" by Chinese National Geography magazine.
