During the New Year holiday, Anhui received 10.15 million tourists in total, up 17.3 percent from the same period last year. Tourism revenue reached 2.75 billion yuan ($442 million), up 29.6 percent from last year.
The weather was good and traffic was smooth in Anhui during the holiday. The 68 monitored scenic spots received 1.14 million people with ticket proceeds amounting to 23.93 million yuan, a year-on-year growth of 4.1 percent and 12.3 percent, respectively. Public cultural tourism facilities such as memorial halls, museums and parks received numerous tourists. Recreational resorts also saw growth in tourist volume. However, the tourist volume growth rate in mountain and sightseeing scenic spots slowed down or even fell below the previous year's levels.
