The construction of an intelligent traffic management system in Lijiang city was started on July 21.

Scheduled to be finished in the middle of November, the system will cover the ancient district, Yulong county and Yulong Snow Mountain through its seven sub-systems: HD video surveillance system, HD electronic police system, HD intelligent monitoring and recording system, control system for the guidance screen and traffic signal, integrated command-platform system, and command center-software system.

The new intelligent traffic management system will enable the command center to perform real-time traffic monitoring as well as capture, record and store traffic violations by using a keyboard and mouse.

In addition, the system applies self-adaptive controls, which will inspect and analyze the traffic conditions of every intersection and road, adjusting the duration of different traffic lights. The controls will eventually maximize the utilization of public roads.

According to Lijiang’s traffic police squad, among all the cities in Yunnan province, Lijiang is the only one with an intelligent traffic management system. They believe that the system will effectively improve the city’s traffic image.
