Taiwan resident chose to study in mainland to seek opportunities for self-growth

Lin Hanting, a Taiwan resident, joins Generation Z's Words. Lin is a second-year student in the School of Business Administration of Dalian University of Technology. When he came to the mainland many of his friends said they did not understand why he wanted to study so far from home. His answer: he wanted to take a risk. In the mainland he found that it and his province are really not that different.
Asked to describe the mainland in three words, Lin replied, "competitive, solidarity and splendid". Before studying in Dalian Lin had visited the mainland several times. It was the mainland spirit of competition, being pushed to be the best version of oneself, that brought him back.
In this episode on Generation Z's Words he says he hopes other countries will respect the rules of his home, the one and only China, and avoid putting their nose where it does not belong.
