BEIJING -- China resolutely opposes the United States' plan to sell arms to Taiwan, Ma Xiaoguang, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office said Friday.
China also resolutely opposes official exchanges and military links between Taiwan and the United States in any form, Ma said.
Any move attempting to undermine peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait will face consequences, the spokesperson said.
Ma made the remarks in response to US State Department approval of arms sales to Taiwan and a bill approved by the US Senate military committee which allows US warships to regularly dock at ports in Taiwan.
