Suriname's ambassador: Peonies bridge cultures
Pick Fung Ho-Chong, ambassador of the Republic of Suriname to China, highlighted the role of flowers in promoting cultural exchange among different countries during the 2025 Heze Peony International Communication Forum and the Seminar on Yellow River Stories.
According to the ambassador, the exchange of flowers, particularly the peony, is much more than just a physical gift. It symbolizes the deep connection between cultures, promoting peace, understanding, and mutual respect among nations and cultures.
The forum, held on April 10 in Heze, Shandong province, welcomed guests from around the world, including diplomats from the Maldives, Suriname and Vietnam, as well as experts in relevant fields, to discuss international communications on peony culture and the promotion of cultural exchanges and mutual learning.
